How hot stone therapy works at Healing Hands

Healing Hands uses flexible, reusable heat packs rather than traditional basalt stones. Each pack contains a solution of sodium acetate, water, and a small metal disc. When activated, an exothermic reaction sustains an internal temperature of 115 to 120°F for up to 20 minutes.

This approach has a practical advantage over basalt stones: traditional stones lose heat quickly and can feel hard and uncomfortable when passing over sensitive areas like the neck or spine. The flexible heat packs maintain consistent temperature and glide smoothly over bony areas, which clients consistently find more comfortable. The service is still called hot stone therapy because that is the most widely understood term, and the therapeutic effect is the same.

Improper stone temperature or placement with traditional basalt stones can cause burns. That risk does not exist with the heat packs Healing Hands uses.

Healing Hands has two spa locations in Miami:
